Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ndc

Short Biography:

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ndc is the Additional Secretary to the Govt. of Bangladesh. As Director General, BIAM Foundation he has joined on 18 September, 2017. Prior to his present position he served as Project Director, and later on as inaugural Registrar General, Birth & Death Registration under Local Govt. Division, Ministry of Local Govt. Rural Development & Cooperatives. Before that he worked as Joint Secretary (Tourism) under Ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism and Deputy Secretary (Admin), Bridges Division and Additional Director (Admin), Bangladesh Bridges Authority under Ministry of Communications.

Mr. Rahman obtained his Masters degree in Economics from Jagannath University (former Jagannath University College) in 1984. He did his second Masters in Business Administration from Northern University. After successful completion of BCS Exam-1985 (7th) he joined in Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) Cadre on 15 February, 1988. He has served in the field administration for about long 20 years consecutively as Assistant Commissioner & Magistrate, Upazila Magistrate, NDC, Magistrate PDB, Upajila Nirbahi Officer, Cantonment Executive Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Additional District Magistrate, Acting Deputy Commissioner etc. at different Upajilas & Districts of the Country.

After joining in Bangladesh Civil Service he has successfully completed all basic training courses viz BMA Course, Foundation Course, Law & Administration Course, and Settlement Course etc. He has also attended some special courses on Prevention of Corruption, Disaster Management, Public Procurement, Computer & English language etc. Moreover he has successfully completed some advance courses like MATT-II, Advance Course on Administration & Development (ACAD), Senior Staff Course (SSC), Policy, Planning & Management Course (PPMC) & National Defense Course (NDC). In some course he has attained some distinctive position. In the National Defense Course his Research paper has been published in the International Journal considering one of the best research papers.

As a part of training and other assignments & purposes he has visited India, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Hongkong, Azerbaijan, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arab, Austria, Hungary, Germany, Canada etc. As a country representative/member he has successfully represented Bangladesh in several International seminar/ meeting/ workshop etc.
